PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC CARDS
The plastic card can be manufactured in several ways. The procedure and procedures to be applied are mainly determined by the quantity to be produced and the graphical feasibility.
Graphic design of the plastic card is essentially done by press technology. For large quantities, offset printing machines are being printed on cards. An important difference with other printing products is that the card is plastic-based. The print is on plastic, which requires the special preparation of the printing machine and the use of special ink.
Making the print of a smaller number of plastic cards with the digital printing machine is the best. (A few thousand.) The rapid development of digital machines makes direct printing on plastics in ever better quality and color fidelity. Nowadays, the quality of digital print is increasingly competitive with offset technology. Its advantage is its speed, but it is not possible to execute any graphics perfectly.
The common feature of these two tecnology is that the cards are always printedon sheets. The front and the back of the cards are on separate sheets. The sheets are rotated after printing and then laminated. Here the cards get 1-1 clear cover foil that protects the print and makes the card durable, and makes it suitable for personalization. Each card is laminated from 4-5 layers.
In this process, the RFID technology, chip or magnetic stripe that may be needed is also inserted into the card. The surface of the cards can be glossy or matte. Applying a matt surface is recommended primarily for dark-colored cards.
The laminated sheets are punched to make the cards fit the ISO standards.
Various optional items, such as a signature strip, hologram, scratch-off layer are inserted directly into the finished card with various technologies.
Some pieces of card production are advisable to carry out with a special card printer.
This technology is mostly for personalization, but the development of the machines allows the printing of the simpler graphic designs in full size. The essence of this process is that a prefabricated (white) plastic card is overprinted by direct or indirect sublimation. Typical applications are the creation and personalization of identification cards. More important if you need a card with ID photo, entry card or authentication card.
By reviewing the above-mentioned wide-ranging procedures, it can be seen that if you become a customer you will get the best quality from a just a few to a few hundred thousand pieces.
The plastic card can also be made of gold, silver metallic, UV printing, or made of transparent or translucent material. – The possibilities can only be limited by your imagination.
PLASTIC CARD PERSONALISATION
We can achieve to name, making distinctive and unique characterization of plastic cards by personalization. There are several types:
– embossing: the customer’s name, number, and data will be embossed in the card material and then colored.
– engraving: the customer’s name, number, and data will be engraved on the card material and colored.
– flat printing: data is simply printed on the surface of the card with some technology that can be sublimation, laser, or inkjet.
– Barcode: basically applied to one of the types of flat printing.
– write (encode) the magnetic stripe: letters and numbers can be written to the magnetic strip as per ISO standard
– write (encode) the chip: during the personalization it is possible to program and upload data with the RFID and the contacted chips. This is always demand, chip and application specific. This is an IT and programming task.
We also accept personalization cards what you bring us (not produced by us) if it is suitable for it.
